Bearman muda sua sorte com vitória na Sprint da Áustria da Fórmula 2

Bearman secured his first victory of the season in the Sprint race in Austria. The Prema driver had a difficult start to his FIA Formula 2 campaign, but managed to turn things around with a great performance on Saturday. He faced a tough challenge from Pepe Marti of Campos Racing, but came out victorious. Championship leader Paul Aron finished in third place, securing his seventh podium of the year. Bearman’s team, Prema, has faced competitiveness difficulties this season, but starting from second position gave him the opportunity to fight for this long-awaited victory.

Kush Maini of Invicta started the race in pole position, but Bearman had a better start from second position on the grid and took the lead in the first corner. Maini lost ground to Marti, who was closely followed by Taylor Barnard of AIX Racing. Barnard made a daring move on the inside of turn 3, causing several drivers to go off track. This allowed Bearman to distance himself from the pack and establish a comfortable lead.

Maini became a hurdle in fourth place, with several cars stuck behind him. Marti took advantage of this opportunity and moved up to second place, but was still two seconds behind Bearman. Maini, Barnard, Aron, and Gabriel Bortoleto were involved in a fierce battle for third place, but Maini managed to hold his position.

Marti began to close the gap to Bearman, reducing the advantage to one and a half seconds. Maini settled into a secure third place, while Barnard, Aron, and Bortoleto fought for fourth place. Aron successfully overtook Barnard and took fourth position. As the race reached lap 8, Bearman’s lead was less than a second and the outcome was still uncertain.

Barnard began to face difficulties, losing fifth place to Bortoleto. He then came under pressure from Franco Colapinto and Joshua Durksen. However, Durksen’s attempt to overtake Barnard resulted in him going off track, leaving him vulnerable to Dennis Hauger. Colapinto eventually overtook Barnard and took sixth place.

At the halfway point of the race, Bearman’s advantage over Marti was about eight tenths of a second. Maini was in third place, closely followed by Aron and Bortoleto. Barnard continued to drop in the rankings, losing the last points-paying position to Hauger. On lap 21, Aron emerged as the winner of the battle for third place with Maini and Bortoleto. This created a gap between the top two and the rest of the pack, with Marti unable to challenge Bearman for the win.

In the final laps, Hauger overtook Maini and moved up to fifth place. Marti tried to reduce the gap to Bearman, but was unsuccessful. Bearman broke DRS on the penultimate lap to secure his victory. Aron successfully defended his fourth position against Bortoleto, while Hauger challenged Colapinto for fifth place. Unfortunately, Colapinto spun and fell out of the points-paying zone after an unsuccessful maneuver.

Bearman crossed the finish line in first place, leading the race from start to finish. Aron’s third place boosted his championship chances, especially with Isack Hadjar not scoring points. Bortoleto came very close to a podium finish, and Hauger completed the top five. Jak Crawford, winner of the main race in Barcelona, climbed the rankings and finished sixth. Maini and Durksen secured the last points-paying positions in seventh and eighth place, respectively.
