Francesco Bagnaia conquered the first position in the second practice session with an impressive lap time of 1.44.938 in the final moments, becoming the only rider to finish in the 1.44 range.
Alex Rins from Yamaha achieved a commendable lap time to secure second place, while Pedro Acosta managed to get third place even after crashing with his GasGas KTM in turn 13, forcing him to switch to his spare bike.
Miguel Oliveira from Trackhouse closely followed in fourth place, with Marc Marquez, Enea Bastianini, and Jorge Martin from the Ducati team finishing behind him. These three riders are being considered for the role of factory Ducati rider in 2025.
Alex Marquez secured eighth place on his Gresini bike, ensuring that both riders from the team qualified for Q2. Maverick Vinales and Aleix Espargaro from Aprilia completed the top ten positions.
Despite showing Yamaha’s improvement in both practice sessions, Fabio Quartararo narrowly missed out on Q2, with Fabio Di Giannantonio unable to improve his best lap time at the end of the session.
A late drama unfolded when Brad Binder’s lap time was invalidated due to track limits, causing him to drop to 12th place. He will have to participate in Q1 tomorrow, along with his teammate Jack Miller and guest rider Pol Espargaro, who finished further back in 17th and 18th place, respectively.
Marco Bezzecchi from VR46 Ducati had a disappointing performance, finishing in 14th place, followed by Franco Morbidelli from Pramac. Raul Fernandez, who secured a front row start last week, struggled and couldn’t improve his position, finishing in 16th place.
Honda ended the session at the back, with Takaaki Nakagami and Johann Zarco from LCR surpassing Joan Mir.
Lorenzo Savadori from Aprilia surpassed Augusto Fernandez, while Luca Marini finished in last place.
