BAE Systems Receives $493 Million Contract for Additional M109A7 Howitzers

BAE Systems has been awarded a $493 million contract to produce additional M109A7 Self-Propelled Howitzers (SPH) and M992A3 Ammunition Carriers for the U.S. Army. The production and delivery are scheduled between August 2025 and July 2026. The M109A7, known for its reliability and advanced artillery capabilities, will continue to support the Army’s Armored Brigade Combat Team (ABCT). This contract brings the total value of the M109A7 program to nearly $3 billion, ensuring continued modernization and operational readiness.
