The National Association of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (Anfavea) in Brazil revealed that Brazilian automobile production grew by 6.7% in the first four months of 2025, with 811.2 thousand units produced.
In April, Brazil’s automobile production reached 28.2 thousand units, representing an increase of 2.8% compared to the same month last year.
According to Anfavea’s data, sales, on the other hand, fell by 5.5% in April, with 208.7 thousand units sold. Nevertheless, the total for the first four months of 2025 amounted to 760.4 thousand vehicles sold, which represents a growth of 3.4% compared to the first four months of 2024.
In April, 46.3 thousand vehicles were exported, an increase of 69.3% compared to the same month in 2024. Between January and April, exports of automobiles produced in Brazil totaled 161.9 thousand vehicles, a growth of 47.8%, mainly driven by the recovery in demand from Argentina, which accounts for about 60% of the growth.
Imported vehicles in April accounted for 17.9% of new registrations, the highest figure since 2022, justified by the entry of electric models from Chinese brands into the Brazilian market.
