Audi lança nova marca de elétricos para a China e apresenta o AUDI E

Audi is preparing for the future in China, and in this regard, the German brand has just launched the AUDI E concept, which anticipates a model intended for the Chinese market that does not feature the four rings, the symbol of the Ingolstadt brand.

The new concept is the result of a partnership between Audi and SAIC established in 2023, which created the sub-brand “AUDI” aimed at developing a range of electric models exclusively for the Chinese market, where the market share of electrified vehicles, including 100% electric, plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and range-extended electric vehicles (REEVs), has already surpassed 50% and continues to grow, with the goal of attracting young customers interested in technology.

So far, the new AUDI E concept has been revealed, described as a fully electric Sportback, which will enter production in 2025, and will be the first of three new models that the AUDI sub-brand plans to launch by 2027.

The AUDI E measures 4.87 meters in length, 1.99 meters in width, 1.46 meters in height, and has a wheelbase of 2.95 meters. It was developed in just 18 months, less than half the time of traditional Audi models. According to the CEO of the Ingolstadt brand, Gernot Döllner, it anticipates “a new generation of advanced and intelligent vehicles that will be exclusive to China”.

The AUDI E concept differentiates itself from existing Audi models by abandoning the use of the four rings, which are replaced by illuminated AUDI letters at both ends of the concept.

Additionally, instead of the traditional grille with air intakes, this AUDI E features black rings that house LED lighting elements and sensors for ADAS systems.

The silhouette is defined by muscular fenders, a flowing roofline, and Sportback proportions. The rear section is characterized by a glass panel that is slightly recessed.

Based on the new Advanced Digitalised platform developed by Audi and SAIC, the AUDI E features an 800-volt electrical architecture and two electric motors, one on each axle, providing a combined power of 755 hp and a maximum torque of 800 Nm.

With quattro all-wheel drive and torque vectoring, AUDI claims an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.6 seconds. The electric motors are powered by a 100 kWh battery that allows for a CLTC range of 700 km, and the 800 V architecture is compatible with fast charging, enabling a range increase of over 300 km in just 10 minutes.
