Audi will end production of the R8 at the end of 2023, but the Ingolstadt brand seems willing to bid farewell to the sports car in a big way, most likely with a GT2 version.
According to the British publication “EVO“, Audi is preparing a special model of the R8, based on the competition model, which will be the “swan song” of the well-known sports car, and the images now revealed show the new R8 on the track, where it is possible to see the imposing rear wing, a generous air intake on the roof, as well as air outlets on the hood to cool the V10 engine.
The images of this ultimate Audi R8, which is expected to be homologated for the road, show that the model does not have the usual camouflage of prototypes, which may suggest that the presentation of the ultimate R8 may not be far away, especially since recent rumors suggest that the model should be revealed in early 2024 and will have a limited production of 100 units.
