Estrela da Aston Martin F1, Stroll é fundamental para equipe, diz de la Rosa.

Lance Stroll, a former Formula 1 driver, is not expected to be replaced at the Aston Martin team, according to Pedro de la Rosa. De la Rosa believes that Stroll and Fernando Alonso form a strong partnership. Stroll had a difficult start to the season, failing to advance from Q1 in the last race in Japan, while Alonso finished in fifth place. Stroll has accumulated nine points in the first four races, compared to Alonso’s 24 points. Aston Martin is currently in fifth place in the constructors’ championship. Stroll’s position in the team has been protected due to his father’s ownership of the team since 2018. However, there have been suggestions that Aston Martin should consider a fully Spanish driver lineup, with Carlos Sainz potentially replacing Stroll. Damon Hill expressed doubts about this possibility, but de la Rosa defended Stroll, stating that there have been occasions where he has outperformed Alonso. De la Rosa also argued that Stroll would not be demotivated by stepping aside, as the team is progressing and building a solid future. With Alonso committed to Aston Martin for several periods, de la Rosa believes that it would be detrimental to the team’s balance to make changes to the driver lineup. He believes the team should stick with their current drivers to maintain their strength.
