Aston Martin considers possibility of signing aerodynamics expert Adrian Newey

In the month of May, the genius behind Red Bull’s aerodynamics announced his departure from the team. The British engineer opted to leave after nearly twenty years with them. Speculation arose that Newey might join various top teams, with Aston Martin being one of the potential destinations. However, he has yet to make a decision and is expected to take a well-deserved break before committing to anything. Aston Martin views Newey as a potential asset for their team’s development and growth.

During an interview, Mike Krack expressed that Aston Martin is still in the process of expanding and evolving, which necessitates their openness to fresh ideas. He also stressed the importance of recruiting experts like Adrian Newey, who recently left Red Bull, in order to fuel further growth. Krack emphasized that Formula 1 is a dynamic sport where merely maintaining the status quo is insufficient for achieving success. To remain competitive, teams must continuously adapt, which may include making high-profile signings like Newey if the opportunity arises.

Mike Krack underscored the significance of establishing a stable foundation built on routines and trust for the team’s triumph. He acknowledged that building trust takes time and effort, but it is indispensable for long-term stability. However, Krack cautioned against complacency or assuming that everything is flawless. Sustained success and the accomplishment of goals require ongoing improvement and dedication. Therefore, Krack believed that if Aston Martin had the opportunity, they would hire Newey.

Mike Krack explained that Aston Martin has recently added several new members to their management team. Whenever a new individual joins, reporters inquire if this completes the team’s puzzle. However, Krack clarified that this is never the case. He stated that the team is constantly evolving, leaving room for further changes and enhancements. The process of constructing a successful team is an ongoing endeavor, and they are perpetually seeking ways to augment and fortify it. Consequently, regardless of who comes and goes, the 52-year-old reckoned that the team always requires improvement, regardless of their past achievements.

Certainly, Mike Krack emphasized that even though the team has recruited some experts, they alone are insufficient for driving improvements. New challenges arise with every race and each season. Therefore, the team must consistently strive for improvement in order to attain success.
