Red Bull’s F1 mastermind, Helmut Marko, drops a bombshell by confirming an upcoming driver debut at the prestigious Silverstone circuit. The seasoned 82-year-old, known for sculpting young racing talents, is about to unleash a new star onto the Formula 1 scene in the hopes of securing Red Bull’s dominance for years to come.
The chosen one is none other than the shining F2 sensation, Arvid Lindblad, who is currently making waves with Campos Racing in the feeder series. Backed by the powerhouse Red Bull team and freshly equipped with his FIA Super Licence, Lindblad is poised to make his grand entrance behind the wheel of the RB21 at Silverstone this Friday.
In a candid interview with Austrian publication Kleine Zeitung, Marko disclosed, “He spent half a day in the car in Italy to prepare him. And he will also be in the car for Friday practice at Silverstone. He is characterized by his mental strength and self-confidence.”
Lindblad, a British talent of Swedish and Indian descent, recently showcased his skills by test driving the Racing Bulls’ 2023 AT04 alongside fellow Red Bull protégé Ayumu Iwasa at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix venue. Following a successful test run, Lindblad is now gearing up to participate in FP1 at the upcoming British Grand Prix, fulfilling one of Red Bull’s mandatory rookie sessions.

However, with a slight reprieve as two of Verstappen’s penalty points expire, Red Bull is seizing the opportunity to groom Lindblad for future reserve duties in F1.
Marko emphasized the urgency of getting Lindblad up to speed swiftly, stating, “We currently have two replacement drivers: Lindblad and Ayumu Iwasa, whose Formula 1 commitments overlap with his commitments in Japan.” Highlighting the challenges of finding capable stand-ins, Marko justified Lindblad’s promotion, underscoring the young driver’s readiness for the big leagues.
