Another season of Victor Martins in Formula 2 with ART Grand Prix has been confirmed. It will be the second one, following the title in Formula 3 – although the connection with the team dates back to the Formula Renault Eurocup in 2020.
The driver, who is of Portuguese descent and is also part of the Alpine Academy, was the best rookie in F2 last year, with ten podiums – one of them being the victory at Silverstone. Now, he aims to achieve even better results and, naturally, fight for the championship.
Martins spoke about his aspirations in a statement: ‘Together with ART Grand Prix, we have a mutual history that is made of passion and success. It has seen the crowning of several titles, and I hope to add another one in 2024, a decisive season for my development. But I will not only focus on the standings. I want to correct the mistakes from last year, manage the championship over time, and always strive to achieve the best possible result, whether the circumstances are favorable or challenging. There are serious rivals in this discipline. There is also an element of uncertainty with a new car, but I trust ART Grand Prix to make the most of it. The team provides me with all the support I need, just like Alpine, and I have all the cards I need to achieve my goals’.
