Aprilla reconhece a necessidade de uma motocicleta aprimorada para atrair pilotos de ponta.

The CEO of Aprilia, Massimo Rivola, recognizes that the team must develop an improved motorcycle to attract high-level riders in 2025, amid speculation that they may hire Fabio Quartararo from Yamaha.

It is widely known that Aprilia has made significant advances in MotoGP in recent years, to the point where it is now consistently competitive and capable of challenging for race wins.

Given that several riders have contracts nearing expiration, securing a high-profile signing could further boost the Italian team in the standings.

The most notable rumor involving Aprilia involves the possible acquisition of the 2021 champion, Quartararo, who has been facing difficulties at Yamaha since last season.

The Frenchman has openly admitted to being in discussions with various manufacturers about his racing future in 2025, considering the lack of competitiveness of his current team.

However, Aprilia acknowledges that its motorcycle must undergo further development to be considered a viable option for Quartararo or other standout riders in the market.

When asked about any contact between Aprilia and Quartararo, Rivola stated: “First of all, we are pleased with our current roster of four riders, but we are also actively exploring our options. We need to assess the market situation and proceed accordingly. Our main focus is on improving our motorcycle, which will subsequently strengthen our position in the market.”

With Quartararo indicating that he will make a decision about his future in MotoGP soon, Rivola emphasized that Aprilia will not make hasty decisions and will prioritize the development of “a better bike.”

Given Aleix Espargaro’s loyalty to Aprilia, it is highly likely that he will receive a contract extension, as he has been with the team since 2017.

Furthermore, Maverick Vinales’ impressive performance in Portimao last weekend may have increased his chances of staying in the team.
