Aprilia Racing Press Release: Marco Bezzecchi joins Aprilia for 2025
Aprilia Racing recently revealed that they have secured the services of renowned Ducati VR46 rider, Marco Bezzecchi, in a two-year contract starting from 2025. This exciting development will see Bezzecchi team up with current championship leader, Jorge Martin, at the prestigious Italian brand.
Bezzecchi’s impressive track record includes three race wins and a commendable third place in the 2023 championship during his successful three-year tenure with Ducati VR46. Despite having the opportunity to switch to a Pramac GP24 option for the current season, Bezzecchi remained loyal to Ducati VR46, even with an older machine at his disposal. However, the trajectory of his career took an unexpected turn when the Ducati factory opted for Marc Marquez for the 2025 season.
The ongoing 2024 campaign has been a rollercoaster for Bezzecchi, currently occupying 11th position in the championship. However, he managed to secure a podium finish in Jerez, finishing just two positions behind his teammate Fabio Di Giannatonio.
The decision of Aprilia to hire Bezzecchi was motivated by the desire to complete their team of riders with a talented Italian rider who aligns perfectly with the team’s vision. Massimo Rivola, CEO of Aprilia, expressed his enthusiasm for Bezzecchi’s arrival, stating: “We are thrilled to welcome one of Italy’s greatest talents, whose exceptional performances and remarkable victories in MotoGP have truly shown his potential. We look forward to the collaboration between Bez and our Italian bike, as well as the formidable duo of riders he will form with Jorge. With our 2025 team composed of Martín and Bezzecchi, we believe we have the perfect combination of youth, talent, determination, and resilience to write a new and significant chapter in Aprilia Racing’s illustrious history.”
The announcement of Bezzecchi’s signing comes on the heels of Aleix Espargaro’s retirement announcement before his home Grand Prix in Barcelona. Furthermore, Bezzecchi’s teammate, Maverick Vinales, has chosen to join Tech3 GasGas for the 2025 season, further solidifying Bezzecchi’s prominent role within the Aprilia team.
