Aprilia deve lamentar desperdiçar sua oportunidade no MotoGP de Portugal.

“Vinales: ‘We need to maintain a positive perspective'”

MotoGP rider Maverick Vinales expressed his determination to face challenges after a disappointing weekend at the Portuguese Grand Prix. Despite his premature exit from the race due to mechanical issues, Vinales kept his composure and did not show negative feelings publicly. He even surprised everyone by saying, “I am very happy!”

Although the breakdown of his bike on the last lap was a tough blow for Vinales, he showed remarkable ability in dealing with adversities throughout his career. His comments after the race indicated the loss of a possible double podium and an almost perfect weekend of 37 points. However, he remained calm and composed.

Vinales’ victory in the Saturday sprint race brought some relief, but he acknowledges that the value of a win or podium in the sprint is insignificant compared to a successful Sunday race. He argues that the problems he faced on Sunday may have cost him 25 points, which is a significant loss.

Despite the technical issues, Vinales managed to showcase his talent by closing the gap to the race leader on each lap. However, the lack of straight-line speed of his bike prevented him from overtaking his competitors. He fought bravely, but the limitations of his bike did not allow him to achieve the desired result.

After the crash, Vinales emerged unscathed but with some minor aches. He now has three weeks to recover before the next race in the United States. However, he emphasizes the importance of Aprilia resolving the reliability issues of his bike if they want to compete for wins consistently.

Vinales and his team believe that the problem faced during the race may be similar to what happened last year in Jerez. They are confident that Aprilia will find a solution to prevent this from happening again, ensuring that the rider can compete at his best performance.

Despite the difficulties faced, Vinales remains motivated and determined to win. He acknowledges that his bike is capable of achieving exceptional performance when everything is in perfect harmony. He believes that, with the necessary improvements, he will be able to achieve more victories in the future.

Vinales’ performance in Portimao was remarkable, even while battling an illness. He showcased his talent and skill, but unfortunately his bike failed to take him to the finish line. Now, it is up to Aprilia to ensure that the reliability of his bike is enhanced, so that Vinales can compete at his maximum potential and achieve the results that he and his team desire.
