Antonio Giovinazzi Renews Contract with Ferrari for WEC and F1 Roles
Italian racing driver, Antonio Giovinazzi, secures his position as an official driver for Ferrari in the World Endurance Championship (WEC) and as a reserve for Formula 1 stars Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc. The 31-year-old from Puglia has inked a multi-year contract extension with the prestigious Maranello-based team, ensuring his presence in both the endurance racing scene and as a vital backup for Ferrari in F1.
In his official statement, Giovinazzi expressed his excitement, stating, “Eight years ago, my adventure with Ferrari began, which for me is much more than a team, it’s a family. The partnership between Giovinazzi and Ferrari is set to surpass the 10-year mark, with the driver officially joining the team on December 16, 2016, under the presidency of Sergio Marchionne. Giovinazzi made his Formula 1 debut shortly after, filling in for the injured Pascal Wehrlein in 2017.
