Stellantis announced this Wednesday the appointment of Italian Antonio Filosa as the new CEO of the company, replacing Carlos Tavares, who resigned in December 2024.
Antonio Filosa, who previously served as Stellantis’ director for North and South America, was appointed in early February to lead a new global quality department, and now takes on the role of CEO.
Filosa was unanimously selected by the Special Committee of the Board of Directors, chaired by John Elkann, following a “thorough selection process of internal and external candidates”, Stellantis said in a statement.
Stellantis also announced that it will convene an extraordinary shareholders’ meeting in the coming days to elect Filosa to the board and act as the company’s executive director.
“In the meantime, to give him full authority and ensure an efficient transition, the Board granted CEO powers effective June 23”, the statement said.
