Antonio Felix da Costa Breaks Silence on Shock Porsche Split: The Last Call That Changed Everything!

In a dramatic twist to the Formula E saga, Antonio Felix da Costa has bared his soul about his recent departure from Porsche, shedding light on the pivotal “last call” that marked the end of his turbulent relationship with the iconic German manufacturer. After three tumultuous seasons filled with highs and lows, da Costa has made the bold decision to join rival Jaguar, a move that has sent shockwaves through the motorsport world.

The Portuguese driver has been at the center of speculation for months regarding his future, and now, as the dust settles on his switch to Jaguar, fans are eager to understand the complexities of his exit from Porsche. Da Costa’s years with the Stuttgart-based team were nothing short of electrifying, a rollercoaster ride where moments of strife often propelled him to astonishing victories. It’s a testament to his resilience that he thrived even when the pressure mounted, proving himself an indomitable force in the fiercely competitive arena of Formula E.

Consider the gripping narrative that unfolded earlier this year when Nico Müller, who had been competing with ABT Cupra, caught everyone off guard with a surprise mid-season test at Porsche while da Costa was still under contract with the team. The revelation sent shockwaves through the paddock, igniting a fierce fire within da Costa. He stormed to victory in Misano shortly after, only to have that triumph snatched away due to a technical disqualification. Despite the setbacks, da Costa’s remarkable ability to bounce back was on full display, culminating in an incredible run of four wins in just five races—an impressive feat that kept the partnership with Porsche alive through the last season.

However, the duo’s potential was never fully realized, hampered by a strained dynamic between da Costa and teammate Pascal Wehrlein. Yet, in a surprising twist of fate, it seems that da Costa has exited on amicable terms. Reflecting on his final conversation with Porsche, he revealed, “The last call was like, there’s a door always open for you here. We were trying to do the best for us, we were trying to do the best for you, and no hard feelings. So I was really happy with that last final call with them when everything was sorted.”

When pressed on whether he harbors any desire to prove Porsche wrong, da Costa was unequivocal: “No, no, no, not that at all. There were some difficult conversations there towards the end, but I was really happy with the last call.” He further emphasized that he holds no grudges, stating, “They are still a winning team. Just the way they want to operate is not the way I want to operate.”

As da Costa embarks on this new chapter with Jaguar, he is laser-focused on his own goals: “I just want to do my thing, be happy, win races and go home with a smile on my face.” His call for peace rather than revenge reflects a mature perspective that should resonate with fans and competitors alike.

With the 2024 season looming on the horizon, all eyes will be on Antonio Felix da Costa as he seeks to redefine his career with Jaguar. Will he emerge victorious in this new arena, or will the ghosts of his past haunt him? One thing is for sure: the motorsport community will be watching closely as this remarkable driver takes the wheel in a bid for glory.
