Session Halted Twice by Red Flags
The 45-minute session was twice interrupted by red flags. The first came early on when Robin Frijns’ Envision Jaguar stopped on track with a technical issue.
The second stoppage occurred just seconds before the session ended, when Nyck de Vries (Mahindra) collided with Stoffel Vandoorne (Maserati) at Turn 13. De Vries was attempting a pass on his former teammate when his Mahindra speared into the barrier, bringing the session to a premature close.
With qualifying set to begin shortly, all eyes are on da Costa and Porsche, who look strong heading into the weekend’s first race. However, with tight margins across the grid, a surprise could be on the cards in Jeddah’s high-speed, technical circuit.
