Antonio Felix da Costa reveals shocking truth about his split from Pascal Wehrlein: the real story unfolds

In a dramatic twist in the world of Formula E, Antonio Félix da Costa has fired a scathing remark directed at his former teammate Pascal Wehrlein, revealing just how much he’s enjoying life after their tumultuous split. The Portuguese racer, now with Jaguar, couldn’t help but reminisce about the simple pleasures of camaraderie, stating, “I had forgotten how enjoyable it is having breakfast, lunch, and dinner with your teammate.” This statement comes after a year marked by tension and conflict, rooted in a contentious incident during the São Paulo race that left their partnership in shambles.

Da Costa’s departure from Porsche was anything but smooth, with the fallout from his relationship with Wehrlein spilling over into public view. The once-cohesive Porsche team found itself divided, especially following a series of escalating disagreements during races in Shanghai and Berlin. Now, as the Formula E season kicks off in São Paulo, da Costa is eager to put the past behind him and embrace a fresh start alongside his long-time friend and racing companion, Mitch Evans.

Reflecting on their history, da Costa expressed his excitement about reuniting with Evans, saying, “It’s amazing. We’ve been racing each other since 2011 in GP3. We’ve been fighting for a lot of race wins, sometimes some of them on the last lap.” Unlike his fractured relationship with Wehrlein, da Costa finds solace in his bond with Evans, stating, “We can always give a hug to each other at the end and go for dinner. And I’m sure it’s gonna stay that way.”

Despite the drama of his Porsche exit, da Costa insists that his past was not entirely fraught with negativity. While acknowledging the tensions with Wehrlein, he clarified, “I left on really good terms with everybody apart from Pascal.” Da Costa was recently spotted mingling with Porsche personnel in their garage, a clear indication that he holds no grudges against the majority of his former teammates. He emphasized, “Not everything was bad. I’ve had a lot of great days and great successes there.”

Now, in his new role with Jaguar, da Costa is reveling in an environment that he describes as “exactly what I was looking for.” He expressed his contentment, stating, “I can have a smile on my face again when I wake up in the morning and I have to go to work.” As he embarks on this new chapter, it’s clear that the wounds of the past are healing, allowing him to focus on what truly matters: racing and rebuilding his career in a supportive and friendly atmosphere.

With the Formula E season now underway, fans and followers are left to wonder what this fresh dynamic at Jaguar will bring, especially as da Costa continues to distance himself from the shadows of his past and embrace the opportunities ahead. The tension between him and Wehrlein may have reached a breaking point, but for da Costa, it’s all about moving forward and relishing the joy of racing once more.
