With Easter around the corner, the National Road Safety Authority (ANSR) has just launched the campaign “Arrive Safely at your Destination“, which runs until March 31st.
With the increase in travel associated with Holy Week and Easter celebrations, the ANSR reinforces “road safety recommendations to travel without haste, without alcohol, and without a mobile phone.”
It should be noted that during the Easter period of 2023, there were 16 fatalities, 42 serious injuries, and 555 minor injuries on Portuguese roads. Out of the total of 1,758 accidents with victims during this period, 11 were very serious accidents.
In addition to the ANSR campaign, the GNR and PSP have also increased surveillance on the main road routes with the implementation of preventive visibility operations and road enforcement during the Easter period.
