Thomas Annunziata, a rising star in motorsports, has once again demonstrated his prowess on the track by clinching his second consecutive victory in the 2025 CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series. The win came at the highly anticipated Mission Foods Road Atlanta SpeedTour, where he dominated the race from start to finish in his No. 90 Gazoo Racing/Nitro Motorsports Toyota Camry. This impressive performance led Nitro Motorsports to a sweeping 1-2-3 finish, with the Toyota Camry debuting with a 1-2 finish.
Annunziata set a blistering pace right from the onset, securing a new track record and earning pole position in the qualifying rounds. As the green flag dropped, he seized the lead, leaving behind Julian DaCosta and Tyler Gonzalez, both of Nitro Motorsports, who were battling for the second spot. A brief disruption due to a crash in the first lap did nothing to douse Annunziata’s fiery pace.
Upon resumption of the race on lap five, Annunziata led the pack, with Gonzalez and DaCosta hot on his heels. As the race progressed, the two Nitro Motorsports drivers started to create a gap between themselves and the rest of the top five. The race was halted again on lap 10 due to several on-track incidents, leading to a caution period.
With the race back on track on lap 15, the battle between Annunziata and Gonzalez intensified. However, by lap 20, Annunziata had managed to extend his lead over Gonzalez by 1.5 seconds. Despite a strong restart on lap 33 by Gonzalez, a double yellow on lap 34 and a minor error by Gonzalez on lap 38 prevented him from overtaking Annunziata, who crossed the finish line first, followed by his Nitro Motorsports teammates Gonzalez, DaCosta, and Sam Corry.
However, the post-race results saw a reshuffling due to a penalty issued to Corry for avoidable contact, which moved him to the 14th position. This promoted Rafa Matos of Silver Hare Racing to fourth and brought Tristan McKee of Spire Gainbridge into the top five.
In his post-race comments, Annunziata expressed his elation, saying, “The race was good from start to finish. It’s an amazing way to introduce Toyota to the CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series. I’m extremely thankful to Nitro Motorsports and everyone at Road Atlanta for giving me such an amazing opportunity.”
In the Pro/Am Challenge race, Keith Prociuk, driving the No. 9 HP Tuners/Cope Race Cars Ford Mustang, claimed victory after a robust competition with Barry Boes and Jared Odrick. However, a post-race penalty relegated Odrick to fourth place, promoting Cale Phillips to the final podium spot.
The CUBE 3 Architecture TA2 Series is set to continue its adrenaline-pumping action at Sonoma Raceway from April 24-27 for the Sonoma SpeedTour, in combination with the Western Championship. Motor racing enthusiasts can catch a replay of Sunday’s race on SPEED SPORT 1 at 8:00 p.m. ET. Stay tuned for more high-octane action on the track.
