Haas’s new Formula 1 technical director, Andrea De Zordo, is a veteran figure in grand prix racing. De Zordo replaces Simone Resta in the role, who had occupied it for three seasons after joining Haas from Ferrari. De Zordo, like Resta, was brought in from Ferrari, which supplies Haas with Formula 1 power units and chassis components. De Zordo began his career with Minardi before joining McLaren and then Ferrari. In 2021, he took up a senior role at Haas as chief designer. Now, Haas will look to fill the vacant role internally.

New Haas team boss Ayao Komatsu praised De Zordo, describing him as a very technical person with good communication skills and a willingness to listen to others. Haas has also unveiled its initial car design for the 2024 season, but the team predicts a challenging position in F1’s pecking order.

Toto Wolff, Mercedes team boss, has spoken for the first time since learning about Lewis Hamilton’s decision to leave Mercedes and join Ferrari in 2025. The move is considered a bombshell in the Formula 1 community. Meanwhile, the latest episode of the Bring Back V10s classic F1 podcast delves into Michael Schumacher’s assertion in 2001 that his brother Ralf was his biggest future title threat. The podcast focuses on a race at the Nurburgring.

The latest edition of the coverage explores Lewis Hamilton’s move to Ferrari for the 2025 Formula 1 season in detail. It also discusses the potential options for Mercedes to fill the void left by Hamilton, including the possibility of another champion, a “Bottas” equivalent, or a rising star. The coverage aims to appeal to both die-hard fans and newcomers to the sport.
