Former Formula 1 star Ralf Schumacher has made a shocking prediction about the future of young driver Jack Doohan at Alpine, hinting at a potential “forced” exit from the team. In a bold statement on a German podcast, Schumacher expressed doubts about Doohan’s abilities and speculated that his days at Alpine could be numbered.

The speculations come amidst ongoing rumors of a driver swap at Alpine, with Doohan’s performance under scrutiny. Despite only recently making his debut in the 2024 season, Doohan’s results have been less than impressive, finishing 15th in Abu Dhabi, failing to finish in Melbourne, and securing a 13th place in Shanghai with penalty points to his name.

Schumacher’s critical assessment of Doohan’s situation at Alpine suggests that the team may be considering alternative options, with four reserve drivers reportedly eager to step in. The former F1 star highlighted Doohan’s alleged mistakes and lackluster performances as potential reasons for Alpine to part ways with the 22-year-old driver before the season concludes.

Alpine’s executive advisor, Flavio Briatore, has previously expressed enthusiasm about the team’s reserve drivers, fueling further speculation about Doohan’s future with the team. With the signing of former Williams star Franco Colapinto, Alpine seems to be keeping its options open for a potential shake-up in the driver lineup.

As the rumors swirl and tensions rise within the Alpine camp, all eyes are on Doohan and whether he can turn the tide to secure his position within the team. Will Alpine indeed cut ties with the young driver, or can Doohan defy the odds and prove his critics wrong on the track? The upcoming races will undoubtedly reveal the fate of Jack Doohan in the high-stakes world of Formula 1.
