Is Jack Doohan on the Verge of Getting Axed by Alpine Following Disastrous F1 2025 Japanese GP?

Australian driver Jack Doohan is under immense scrutiny as his lackluster performance in the F1 2025 season continues to disappoint Alpine and team principal Oliver Oakes. After a dismal Japanese Grand Prix where Doohan finished 15th, behind his teammate and a whopping 19 seconds adrift of his competitors, questions loom over his future with the team.

The 22-year-old rookie’s troubles were further exacerbated by a costly crash during Free Practice 2 at Suzuka. Alpine revealed that Doohan’s attempt to manipulate the DRS system using the brake pedal instead of the designated button led to a disastrous spin and a substantial repair bill for the team.

With the highly-regarded Franco Colapinto waiting in the wings, having paid a significant sum for his services, the pressure mounts on Doohan to deliver or face being replaced. Colapinto’s impressive stint with Williams in the previous season showcased his talent and adaptability, making him a formidable contender to take Doohan’s spot in the Alpine lineup.

As the F1 season intensifies with back-to-back races, Alpine may not have much time to make a decision regarding Doohan’s future. With Colapinto poised to step in before the end of April, the upcoming races will be crucial in determining whether Doohan can salvage his position or if Alpine will opt for a swift driver swap to revitalize their campaign.

The clock is ticking for Jack Doohan as the specter of being ousted from Alpine looms large, with the talented Colapinto waiting in the wings for his shot at glory. Will Doohan rise to the occasion, or is his time in the F1 spotlight coming to an abrupt end? Stay tuned as the drama unfolds on the track.
