Flavio Briatore Shakes Up Alpine F1 Team with Shocking Announcement

In a surprising turn of events, Flavio Briatore, the Alpine team leader, has thrown a curveball by refuting the earlier announcement made by his own team regarding Franco Colapinto’s five-race plan in Formula 1. The plot thickens as Briatore contradicts the decision to promote Colapinto to a race seat for the next five races, replacing Jack Doohan, who had been struggling to make an impact in the 2025 season.

The statement released by Alpine just a few days ago seemed crystal clear, indicating a definite timeline for Colapinto’s participation in the upcoming races. However, Briatore’s recent remarks have left fans and experts alike in a state of bewilderment. “Franco will race as much as needed. There’s no set limit on his races. He needs to be fast, not crash, and score points,” Briatore asserted, completely overturning the initial plan set by the team.

Moreover, Briatore’s elevation to the role of sole decision-maker within the Alpine F1 team, following Oliver Oakes’ resignation as team principal, has added another layer of complexity to the situation. Despite not holding a specific title, Briatore is now at the helm, steering the team in a new direction. “I’m taking charge, but I’m used to that, it’s not my first day at school,” Briatore expressed, hinting at his vast experience in leading teams to championship glory in the past.

The departure of Oakes, attributed to personal reasons, has sparked rumors of discord within the team, which Briatore was quick to dispel. “There were rumors that I had argued with Oliver, but that’s not true — we have a great relationship,” Briatore clarified, seeking to quell any speculation surrounding the team’s internal dynamics.

As the racing world grapples with these unexpected developments, all eyes are now on Briatore and the Alpine F1 team to see how they navigate through this period of uncertainty and transition. With the stakes higher than ever in the world of Formula 1, Briatore’s bold decisions are sure to keep fans on the edge of their seats as the drama unfolds on and off the track.
