The Formula 1 season started in a negative way for Alpine. The French team is one of the least competitive and has not yet been able to fight for points in the first four rounds.
The overweight chassis largely justifies the limitations of the A524, so a new one is being worked on – in fact, Esteban Ocon debuted it this weekend at the Chinese GP. It is certain, however, that the power unit also does not help.
Nevertheless, Pierre Gasly is excited about what he sees. The driver told Canal+ that the new version of the chassis used by his teammate – which is currently the only one available – is encouraging:
“From what we have seen so far, the improvements in Esteban’s car seem to be a step in the right direction. So, I am looking forward to Miami, where we can both benefit from these developments.”
