The Aston Martin team, in collaboration with Formula 1 driver and two-time world champion Fernando Alonso, has created a limited edition vehicle called Valiant. Only 38 units of this car will be produced. Alonso expressed enthusiasm for the Valiant, stating that it is the result of his passion for pushing the limits of driving. He worked closely with the Q by Aston Martin team to design and specify the technical features of the car, believing that they have produced a masterpiece.
According to a source familiar with the matter, the retail price of the Valiant in the UK is approximately £2 million ($2.54 million), excluding taxes. The company has already sold all units in advance. Aston Martin has halted production of its old models in preparation for increased production of new models, which is expected to boost revenue and profit for the company in the second half of the year.
Under the leadership of president and principal shareholder Lawrence Stroll, Aston Martin has undergone a transformation in recent years. The brand’s sports car lineup has been refreshed with the introduction of new models, and the company has undergone several recapitalizations. This includes a rights issue that resulted in the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund becoming a significant shareholder in 2022.
The Valiant joins other collectible special models from Aston Martin, such as the Valkyrie, which has a starting price of £2 million, the Vantage, and the upcoming mid-engine supercar Valhalla. The specific retail price of the Valiant has not been disclosed by the company.
The second half of 2024 will be a crucial period for Aston Martin as it seeks to increase production. The company has faced challenges in the past, including production issues with the DB12 and shipping delays, resulting in higher costs associated with delivering the limited edition Valkyrie in recent years.
