Alonso admitted that he was caught off guard by the timing of the news about Hamilton’s move to Ferrari, as he did not expect it until later in the year. He believes that both Ferrari and Mercedes had to make their announcements earlier than planned due to leaks and rumors. While other drivers, like George Russell, have received questions from various drivers about the possibility of joining them at Mercedes, Alonso has not been approached and chose not to comment on the possibility of joining the German team. He reiterated his position of repeatedly discussing his future and stated that he will give a consistent answer to the question.
