Alonso concorda com contrato de longo prazo com a Aston Martin.

The Aston Martin has announced that Fernando Alonso has extended his commitment to the team in Formula 1 by signing a new contract that will keep him with the team until 2026.

Alonso made the switch to Aston Martin from Alpine last season and had an impressive debut season, securing eight podium finishes.

However, with Aston Martin’s drop in the Constructors’ Championship standings to fifth place, Alonso had been considering his future in the sport.

There were rumors linking Alonso to Red Bull or Mercedes as a possible replacement for Lewis Hamilton, who is set to join Ferrari.

But Aston Martin put an end to the speculation by confirming that Alonso will remain with the team as they enter a new era with Honda in 2026.

In a statement released by Aston Martin, Alonso expressed his commitment, saying: “I’m here to stay.”

Team principal Mike Krack also expressed his satisfaction in securing Alonso’s long-term future with the team, highlighting their strong working relationship and shared determination for success.

Krack emphasized Alonso’s hunger for success, performance improvement, and dedication to making Aston Martin a competitive force.

The multi-year agreement with Alonso will take Aston Martin and Honda into their power unit partnership in 2026, and the team is excited about the future and the potential for more success together.
