Dodge’s New Muscle Car Set to Debut Next Month
Get ready, muscle car enthusiasts! Dodge is gearing up to unveil its highly anticipated new muscle car, and it’s just around the corner. According to a report, the car will be revealed on March 5, described by Dodge/SRT’s Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, Matt McAlear, as “the next generation of muscle.” This beast of a machine is expected to set a new standard and draw inspiration from the Charger Daytona SRT Concept showcased in 2022.
The upcoming Dodge muscle car has been captured in several spy shots, giving us a glimpse of its new features. From what we can see, it will sport new lighting units, updated bumpers, larger side mirrors, and a sturdier central pillar. However, it will still maintain the overall proportions of the concept model. Underneath, it will utilize the STLA Large platform, which will also be used by other upcoming models from Stellantis, such as Jeeps, Chryslers, Maseratis, and Alfa Romeos.
While most of the powertrain options for this new Dodge Charger are expected to be electric, there are rumors that it will also offer internal combustion engines. One potential option is the 3.0-liter Hurricane, a twin-turbocharged inline-six unit. Though details about its output and torque are still unknown, it is expected to compete with the latest Ford Mustang GT and Dark Horse configurations, which feature a naturally aspirated 5.0L Coyote V8 engine. The same engine is also rumored to be used in the upcoming Ram 1500 TRX.
The new Dodge Charger is set to be an exciting and dynamic vehicle, combining the power of an electric motor with the thrill of a traditional muscle car.
