ALISHA PALMOWSKI CRUSHES THE COMPETITION WITH MAIDEN POLE POSITION AT CHINESE GRAND PRIX F1 ACADEMY

In an electrifying start to the 2026 F1 Academy season, Alisha Palmowski has made a thunderous statement by clinching her first-ever pole position at the Chinese Grand Prix. As the lights dimmed over Shanghai, the anticipation was palpable, and Palmowski delivered, leaving her competitors trailing in her wake.

This year’s F1 Academy is bursting with fresh talent, new tracks, and powerful sponsors, and it opened its campaign in the very same city as the previous season. With a roster featuring only seven seasoned drivers out of 17, the stage was set for intense rivalries and fierce competition.

In the initial Free Practice session, all eyes were glued to Palmowski, who showcased her prowess by topping the timesheets with an impressive performance. Her closest rival was Ferrari’s Alba Larsen, signaling an exhilarating battle for supremacy.

But the drama didn't stop there! The Chinese GP weekend welcomed the wild card entry Wei Shi for the second consecutive year, who was determined to turn her luck around after a challenging debut season.

As qualifying commenced, drivers wasted no time hitting the track, with an average lap time exceeding two minutes. The urgency was palpable as they aimed to establish solid lap times. Audi’s Emma Felbermayr set the bar high early on, clocking a remarkable 2:05.362. However, the fierce competition quickly heated up—Palmowski was hot on her heels, just two tenths behind.

The tension escalated when Palmowski unleashed her potential, clocking a blistering 2:04.9. But just as she looked poised to regain control, rookie sensation Lisa Billard burst onto the scene, clocking a stunning 2:05.025. The stakes were rising, and the pressure was on.

A twist in the tale came when Kaylee Countryman brought out the first red flag with a track stoppage, but the action resumed swiftly. Every driver was itching to set their final qualifying lap, and as the clock ticked down, the excitement reached fever pitch.

With the final minutes of the session ticking away, Palmowski found her rhythm, smashing her previous best with a jaw-dropping 2:04.637. This time was nearly half a second quicker than her nearest rival, Larsen, confirming Palmowski’s status as the dominant force to be reckoned with this season.

While veterans like Felbermayr surged onto the provisional second row, the rookies proved formidable. Natalia Granada and Nina Gademan secured impressive starting positions, showcasing the depth of talent in the series.

The final results were nothing short of spectacular: Alisha Palmowski emerged triumphant, claiming her maiden pole position and setting the stage for an unforgettable Race 1 on Sunday. She will be flanked by Alba Larsen and Emma Felbermayr, promising a fierce showdown that fans won’t want to miss.

With this electrifying performance, Alisha Palmowski has not only set the tone for the season but has also firmly positioned herself as a serious championship contender. The world will be watching closely as the drama unfolds at the Chinese Grand Prix—this is only the beginning!
