In Italy, the Carabinieri have two new vehicles for the rapid transport of organs and blood. Painted in the colors of that security force, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and the Maserati MC Pura are specifically designed for this purpose, equipped with various special features to ensure their mission’s success, while maintaining their technical characteristics: a 520 hp V6 twin-turbo engine, rear-wheel drive with a limited-slip differential, and sports suspension in the case of the representative from Arese; a 3.0-V6 twin-turbo Nettuno engine with 630 hp, and a carbon fiber monocoque in the sports car from Sant’Agata Bolognese.

The initiative reaffirms Stellantis’ strategic collaboration with that security force, whose main objective is to provide top models specifically oriented for this type of service, and the key handover ceremony was attended by Antonio Filosa, the managing director of the consortium, and Santo Ficili, the “boss” of Alfa Romeo and Maserati. And while this is the first time a model from the Trident brand supports the Carabinieri, the beginning of the relationship with Alfa Romeo dates back to the period immediately after the end of World War II: the first vehicle delivered to this police force was the 1900 M “Matta” from 1951, followed a year later by the Sedan 1900, which became the first “Gazzella,” a term used for emergencies in the Carabinieri slang. Later, the original Giulia was used from 1963 to 1968, before the Alfetta, 90, 75, 155, 156, and 159.

Tore Luongo, Commander General of the Carabinieri, thanked the collaboration with Stellantis: “This not only represents an alliance with Italian automotive excellence. It also promotes institutional operational efficiency, only possible due to the alignment in the purpose of serving the community. The operational reliability of these vehicles is a vital tool for saving lives, the noblest mission of this institution.” Antonio Filosa also stated: “We are proud to provide the Carabinieri with two vehicles that represent the best of Italian technology and design. The Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio and the Maserati MC Pura are not just symbols of performance and style, but concrete tools to ensure speed and safety in missions of vital importance. This collaboration attests to our commitment to combine automotive excellence and social responsibility.”
