Just a few days before the delivery of the first unit of the Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale, the limited edition sports car from the Italian brand has just been awarded the “Supercar of the Year” prize at the Automobile Awards.
The Alfa Romeo 33 Stradale was chosen by a jury of international experts and automotive journalists. The Alfa Romeo supercar prevailed over other illustrious Italian gems, such as the Maserati GT2 Stradale and the Ferrari F80.
The award was presented to Marion Beyret, Director of Communications at Stellantis in France, during a ceremony held at the prestigious setting of the Automobile Club de France, located at Place de la Concorde in Paris.
It is worth noting that the 33 Stradale is equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine producing over 620 hp, which is mounted longitudinally in a mid-engine position, paired with an 8-speed DCT transmission, featuring a rear-wheel-drive configuration and an electronic limited-slip differential to provide exceptional performance.
The engine, which is an evolution of the V6 already used in the higher-performance vehicles of the Italian brand, is mounted longitudinally in the center and allows Alfa Romeo to announce a top speed of 333 km/h and an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in under 3 seconds.
The new 33 Stradale also features two driving modes, activated by switches on the central tunnel: “Strada” and “Pista.” The first, active when the car is started, ensures comfort and driving pleasure, with smooth power delivery, the usual pedal sensitivity, soft suspension, a smooth gearbox, and active exhaust valves that only open above 5,000 rpm. In “Pista” mode, the driver opts for a more adrenaline-fueled experience: power is maximized, pedal sensitivity is even greater, and the suspension is stiffer, allowing for quick gear shifts, with the active exhaust valves always open.
Alfa Romeo will produce only 33 units of this supercar, with production being carried out artisanally at the Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera facilities.
