Alexander Albon: ‘De certa forma fui punido pelo bom arranque’

The São Paulo Grand Prix Formula 1 race lasted no more than a few meters for Alexander Albon. The Anglo-Thai driver had a double collision with the Haas cars of Nico Hülkenberg and, especially, Kevin Magnussen, ending up in the barriers even before the first corner.

Quoted by the website SPEEDWEEK.com, the Williams driver has no doubts that his good start ultimately led to the accident: ‘In Mexico, in the sprint race in Brazil and in the Grand Prix in Interlagos, we always had good starts, three times in a row, but the accident was a consequence of the good start, which is very frustrating. In a way, I was punished for the good start’.

Albon also explained the origin of the incident: ‘I really wanted to overtake the two Haas cars on my own to score points in the championship. For a little over a hundred meters, it seemed to work. Unfortunately, it was the end’.
