Alex Marquez was the fastest in the first practice session for the Spanish Grand Prix, with his teammate and brother Marc Marquez close behind. The two riders exchanged positions throughout the session, but it was Alex who set the fastest time of 1:36.630s, putting him half a second ahead. Maverick Vinales finished in third place, less than a tenth of a second behind Marc Marquez. Aleix Espargaro of Aprilia finished in fourth place.

Franco Morbelli of Pramac managed to secure fifth place, despite being almost a second slower than the leader in the early practices. Marco Bezzecchi of VR46 Ducati finished in sixth. Dani Pedrosa, who is a guest rider for KTM in this round, finished as the top KTM rider in seventh place, while Brad Binder, the full-time KTM rider, finished in eighth.

Jack Miller, another KTM team rider, had a tough time and ended up in 16th place. The current championship leader, Jorge Martin, also struggled and finished in ninth place. Rookie sensation Pedro Acosta, who secured two podiums in the first three races, completed the top 10 on his GasGas KTM.

Fabio Di Giannantonio, Francesco Bagnaia, and Enea Bastianini of Ducati, along with Fabio Quartararo of Yamaha, just missed out on the top 10. Alex Rins, Quartararo’s teammate at Yamaha, finished in 17th place. Miguel Oliveira and Miller split the Yamaha riders in the standings.

Johann Zarco found himself between Raul Fernandez and Augusto Fernandez, despite losing control of his bike at Turn 8 during the session. Zarco still managed to be the fastest Honda rider, ahead of Takaaki Nakagami and Joan Mir from the factory Honda team.

Lorenzo Savadori of Aprilia and Stefan Bradl, Honda’s test rider, occupied the next two positions. Luca Marini, the full-time Honda rider, finished in last place.
