Le Mans Qualifying Shocker: Alex Lynn Claims Pole Position in a Nail-Biting Session

In a heart-stopping qualifying session at Le Mans, Alex Lynn secured a remarkable pole position for Cadillac and JOTA. Despite his elation, Lynn described the session as “tricky,” navigating challenges that tested his skills to the limit.

Facing a tight timeframe of only 10 to 12 minutes at 9:45 pm, Lynn took on the track with medium tires, pushing himself to the edge. The British driver expressed the difficulty of entering the session cold and highlighted the unique format of the qualifying round.

Driving the #12 JOTA Cadillac V-Series.R, Lynn, alongside teammates Will Stevens and Norman Nato, showcased his determination and talent on the track. Despite facing tough competition, Lynn managed to secure the top spot, emphasizing the importance of continuous improvement and adaptation during the session.

Reflecting on his performance, Lynn revealed that his lap was not fully optimized due to the challenging format of the session. He identified where he lost crucial time to his competitors, showing his strategic mindset and ability to make real-time adjustments for a better lap time.

After a long wait since his second-place finish in the previous year, Lynn’s pole position victory brought him immense satisfaction. The significance of claiming the top spot at Le Mans, especially after a close miss in the past, added to Lynn’s sense of achievement and pride.

Moreover, Lynn credited the Cadillac for its exceptional performance over a single lap, highlighting its unique capabilities that set it apart from other cars on the track. His insights into the car’s handling and downforce showcased his expertise and understanding of the vehicle’s strengths.

In a remarkable turn of events, Lynn’s teammate Earl Bamber secured the second spot, solidifying Cadillac and JOTA’s dominance with a front row lockout. Lynn expressed his joy at sharing this achievement with Bamber, emphasizing their strong partnership and shared success over the years.

As the Le Mans qualifying results unfolded, Lynn’s stellar performance and well-deserved pole position cemented his status as a formidable contender in the upcoming race. With a display of skill, resilience, and teamwork, Lynn and his teammates set the stage for an electrifying competition at Le Mans.
