Alex Lynn Reigns Supreme: Cadillac’s Fastest Lap Ousts #7 Toyota in Le Mans Qualifying

Le Mans 24 Hours Qualifying: Cadillac Dominates with Lynn Setting the Pace, Toyota Falters

In a nail-biting qualifying session for the 2025 Le Mans 24 Hours, Alex Lynn showcased his prowess by setting the fastest time in his Cadillac, leaving competitors in the dust. The scorching track saw Lynn clocking a blistering 3m22.847s, edging out Dries Vanthoor’s BMW by a mere four hundredths of a second.

The session kicked off with Ferrari making its presence known, with Yifei Ye’s #83 car leading the pack with a time of 3m23.994s, showing early strength. However, Lynn and his Cadillac soon stole the spotlight, with Sebastien Bourdais hot on his heels, setting competitive lap times.

As the session progressed, the battle for pole position intensified, with Vanthoor’s impressive 3m22.887s lap putting BMW in contention. But it was Lynn who ultimately reigned supreme, solidifying Cadillac’s dominance at Le Mans.

Notably, the #7 Toyota faced a disappointing setback, failing to make the cut for the top 15 cars advancing to Hyperpole. In a surprising turn of events, the Toyota entry, driven by Nyck de Vries, ended up in 17th place, trailing behind the competition.

In the LMP2/LMGT3 category, Louis Deletraz of AO by TF set the early pace, only to face challenges from other teams vying for the top spot. With red flags interrupting the session, the competition remained fierce, with teams like United Autosports and Algarve Pro Racing putting up a strong fight for pole position.

Meanwhile, in the LMGT3 class, BMW, Porsche, and Lexus battled for supremacy, with Ahmad Al Harthy of Team WRT’s BMW making a statement with a stellar performance.

As the dust settled on the qualifying session, the stage was set for a thrilling Hyperpole showdown, where the top contenders would go head-to-head for pole position glory. Stay tuned as the drama unfolds at the iconic Le Mans circuit, where speed and strategy collide in a quest for victory.
