Alex Lowes has officially signed a contract to race for the newly established Bimota Racing Team by Kawasaki in the 2025 World Superbike season. Lowes has been part of the KRT team since 2020 and will remain with the highly successful team as they undergo changes in 2025. In April, Bimota and Kawasaki announced their collaboration, revealing plans to produce a special homologation model with the Ninja ZX-10RR engine. Lowes had a strong start to his campaign, securing two wins in the season opener at Phillip Island. His extension with the team demonstrates confidence in Bimota’s new project. Lowes expressed his belief that this opportunity came at the right time, praising the efforts of both Bimota and Kawasaki in this endeavor. He believes that their combined experience and expertise will give them the best chance of success with the new bike. Lowes is grateful for the trust shown in him by KMC, Bimota, and Provec Racing, and is excited to continue being part of their racing family. KRT team manager, Guim Roda, emphasized the importance of maintaining a solid structure for the upcoming season and expressed his satisfaction with Lowes’ decision to stay with the team. He looks forward to achieving new milestones with the Bimota Racing Team by Kawasaki project. Shigemi Tanaka, General Manager of the Marketing and Sales Division at Kawasaki Motors, Ltd, expressed his satisfaction in securing Alex Lowes’ services for the Bimota Racing Team by Kawasaki. Tanaka highlighted Lowes’ experience, racing skills, and positive relationships with the team as valuable assets for this new racing project. He also mentioned that Lowes can now focus on achieving further success in the 2024 season, while preparations continue for the new team. Currently, Lowes is in fourth position in the riders’ standings with 93 points, as the Misano round of the WorldSBK begins on Friday.
