Hendrick Motorsports veteran Alex Bowman is ready to turn the page on a bittersweet 2024 season and make a statement in the 2025 NASCAR Cup Series. Bowman, piloting the iconic No. 48 Chevrolet, has outlined ambitious goals, including securing multiple wins and shaking off the inconsistency that has plagued his recent campaigns.

A Frustrating 2024 Campaign

After injury-ridden seasons in 2022 and 2023, Bowman entered 2024 determined to rewrite his narrative. He claimed victory at the Chicago Street Race and earned a spot in the playoffs’ Round of 12, only to suffer a crushing blow when his car was disqualified for being underweight. This misstep opened the door for Joey Logano, who capitalized and eventually clinched the championship. Despite these setbacks, Bowman remains optimistic, using the lessons from last season as fuel for his comeback.

Focused Goals for 2025

Bowman knows exactly what he needs to do to silence his critics and cement his place within Hendrick Motorsports: win more races and maintain consistency throughout the season, particularly in the playoffs.

“We need to go win races. That’s the biggest thing,” Bowman told RACER. “Being on the good side of things instead of coming off a poor end of the season is really good. So, we just need to use that in the right ways, capitalize on it, and go from there.”

Bowman is determined to end his three-year streak without a multi-win season, last achieved in 2021. A focus on closing the gap between regular-season success and playoff struggles will be critical.

Building Confidence for the Future

Reflecting on his performance across various tracks, Bowman highlighted his team’s strengths and drew confidence from their competitiveness. Despite a disappointing showing at Phoenix, Bowman was proud of their overall effort.

“Phoenix didn’t go how we wanted it to, but other than that, I felt like we did a really good job the rest of the season,” Bowman said. “Martinsville looks bad on paper, but we ran 13th at Martinsville with no power steering for the last half of the race. So, we were doing the right things for sure.”

These positive takeaways signal that the No. 48 team is headed in the right direction and poised to deliver a strong showing in 2025.

Proving His Worth at Hendrick Motorsports

The pressure is on for Bowman as questions linger about his long-term future with Hendrick Motorsports. With younger, hungry drivers rising through the ranks and the team consistently delivering championship-caliber machinery, Bowman needs to showcase his ability to contend consistently at the highest level.

The 2025 season offers him the perfect stage to prove his doubters wrong, capitalize on his team’s resources, and establish himself as a legitimate contender for the Cup Series championship.
