Alex Bowman was extremely frustrated in a radio conversation with his spotter during the race. Bowman, a driver for Hendrick Motorsports, has been under scrutiny, despite consistently denying the allegations. His teammates, Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott, secured playoff spots by winning races in 2024, with Larson winning three times. In contrast, Bowman has not won a race in over two years.

During the race at Dover this Sunday, Bowman was in contention for the win but couldn’t secure one, finishing in 8th place. He had a heated discussion with his spotter during the race. This incident occurred at the end of Stage Two, where he finished in 2nd place behind his teammate, Larson. The No. 5 team managed to beat No. 48, which was faster due to the aero block.

Bowman was furious with his teammate for blocking him and preventing him from winning the stage. He expressed his frustration over the team radio, arguing with his spotter. Kevin Hamlin, the spotter, was not pleased with Bowman complaining about his teammate and reminded him that Larson would not move for him in the race. Bowman responded by telling him to be quiet. Both were simply frustrated due to the challenging race, and there doesn’t seem to be any personal animosity expressed over the radio.

After the race, Bowman spoke to the press about his battle with Kyle Larson. He mentioned that he had difficulty maneuvering around Larson due to the aero block and with Chase Elliott right behind him, he had no options. However, he has already moved past the drama.

He also addressed any potential issues with Kevin Hamlin and clarified that there is no such problem. Bowman and his team are looking forward to redeeming all the frustration in the next race in Kansas and will continue their efforts to get back to the winner’s circle.
