Albon: Williams FW46 apresenta um desafio totalmente novo.

The former Formula 1 champions, who achieved a remarkable climb from last to seventh place last year, have made significant changes to their car to continue their progress. During the F1 tests in Bahrain on Thursday, Thai driver Albon spoke to reporters about the improvements they have made: “We have addressed many of the problems we faced last year, but there are still some new challenges that we need to solve. It’s part of the learning process, but things are going well so far.”

Albon emphasized that it is difficult to quantify the extent of their improvement: “It’s difficult to put a specific number on it. What is clear is that it will take some time for us to achieve our goals.” He acknowledged that the new car presents a completely different set of challenges: “I don’t expect us to immediately achieve great success, but we can certainly have a good start and perform well in the upcoming races.”

The Williams FW46 faced difficulties on its first day in Bahrain, with Albon completing 40 laps and his American teammate Logan Sargeant completing only 21 laps due to a fuel pump failure and a transmission issue, respectively. However, Thursday brought more positive results, with Sargeant completing an impressive 117 laps.

Sargeant expressed his thoughts on the day’s progress to F1TV: “Although we encountered some issues throughout the day, it was generally a positive day. We have made significant progress in the right direction and have a clear understanding of where we need to focus our efforts… there are still several areas that require attention.”

Despite his optimism, Sargeant admitted that he is still struggling with the car: “It’s a good car, but we need to fine-tune certain aspects and improve the overall balance. Fortunately, we have several ideas and techniques to help us achieve that.” (Reported by Alan Baldwin)
