While Williams boss James Vowles confirmed that Albon has a contract for 2025, he indicated that the team would not stand in his way if another team approached him. Albon emphasized his belief in his ability to compete for victories and stated that the team’s progress will determine his long-term commitment. He expressed his excitement about the development of the new FW46 car and his eagerness to assess its performance in the upcoming races. Albon sees himself as being very close to reaching his full potential as a driver, but acknowledges that there is always room for improvement. Williams rose from the bottom of the Constructors’ Championship to seventh place last season. However, Vowles acknowledges that making further progress in the meantime may be challenging. Instead, the former Mercedes Strategy Director has implemented plans to revitalize the infrastructure at the Grove base in preparation for the upcoming 2026 regulation changes.

Realistically, it will take time. I believe that it won’t be until 2026-27 that we can consistently compete for podium finishes, and that’s still quite a way off. However, I am content with the progress we are making and the journey we are on. My vision for the team’s future is crystal clear, and I will do everything in my power to support and drive us towards that goal.
