Alain Prost Revs Up History: McLaren Reunion and Fittipaldi Project Unveiled

Alain Prost Set to Make Thrilling Return to McLaren MP4/4 at Goodwood Festival!

In a jaw-dropping announcement, racing legend Alain Prost is confirmed to reignite his bond with the iconic McLaren MP4/4 at the prestigious 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The anticipation is electrifying as Prost gears up to take the wheel of the historic car that made waves in the 1988 season alongside Ayrton Senna.

The McLaren MP4/4, a powerhouse on wheels, etched its name in the annals of Formula 1 history with an astonishing record of 15 wins out of 16 races during the 1988 season. Prost and Senna carved their legacy as they dominated the tracks, leaving their competitors in the dust and solidifying McLaren’s supremacy in the sport.

The upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed on the 12th and 13th of July will witness Prost showcasing his skills in Chassis No.4 of the MP4/4, the very car that propelled him to victory in the Monaco, French, and Mexican Grands Prix. Racing enthusiasts are on the edge of their seats as they await the thrilling spectacle of Prost reviving his championship-winning moments behind the wheel of this legendary machine.

But that’s not all! McLaren is pulling out all the stops for this year’s festival, with the unveiling of a unique project involving the construction of a McLaren M23 by a team of skilled apprentices and interns. The project pays homage to racing greats Emerson Fittipaldi and James Hunt, who steered the M23 to victory in the 1974 and 1976 seasons, respectively.

Piers Thynne, McLaren’s chief operating officer, expressed his excitement for the event, stating, “It’s great for McLaren to be back at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It’s the perfect occasion to showcase our own heritage alongside our more recent achievements and to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Formula 1.”

As the countdown to the Goodwood Festival of Speed begins, the air is thick with anticipation for the exhilarating displays of speed, skill, and nostalgia that McLaren is set to deliver. Stay tuned as Alain Prost, alongside a stellar lineup of McLaren’s legendary cars, revs up for a weekend of adrenaline-pumping action on the historic grounds of Goodwood!
