Ferrari has revealed the design of their #83 AF Corse 499P Hypercar that will take part in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship. The vehicle showcases a prominent yellow hue that complements the secondary red shade. This marks the third privately-entered Hypercar from AF Corse representing the Maralleno brand. The primary factory Hypercars will maintain a similar appearance to their inaugural season in 2023, with minor adjustments. The #83 car has a distinctive inverted appearance to differentiate it from the two factory cars, which display the numbers #50 and #51 on the front. The #83 team has been confirmed and includes Scuderia Ferrari F1 reserve driver Robert Schwartzman, official driver Yifei Ye, and 2023 WEC LMP2 champion Robert Kubica. In the FIA World Cup for Hypercar Teams championship, the #83 499P will compete against three Porsche 963s: the #99 Proton Competition, and the #12 and #38 JOTA Hypercars. The 2024 season will feature a total of 19 Hypercars in the category, as indicated by the recent 24 Hours of Le Mans entry list, which listed 23 Hypercars. The initial race for Ferrari’s third 499P will be held at the 1812 km Qatar on 2 March, following the official Prologue two-day pre-season test on 24-25 February.
