Adrien Fourmaux Dominates Rally Italy Sardinia as M-Sport Faces Catastrophe

In a thrilling turn of events in Rally Italy Sardinia, Adrien Fourmaux has taken the lead, leaving his competitors in the dust. The M-Sport team, on the other hand, faced a nightmare as their drivers struggled to keep up with the pace.

Fourmaux currently leads the rally, closely followed by Hyundai’s Thierry Neuville, with just 2.9 seconds separating the two. Sébastien Ogier is not far behind, trailing by 8.1 seconds and completing the provisional podium lineup.

The competition has been fierce, with different drivers leading after each stage. Ogier, the eight-time champion, initially took the lead by a mere 0.8 seconds over Neuville. However, the tables turned dramatically during the Telti – Calangianus – Berchidda test, as Ott Tänak stormed ahead with an impressive 3.3-second stage win, propelling him from fifth to second place.

The strategic use of tires has also played a crucial role in the rally, with Neuville opting for a soft-biased tire package that proved to be a wise choice. Reflecting on his performance, Neuville expressed satisfaction with the decision, stating, “I think we learned something for sure. I’m satisfied.”

Despite facing challenges, including punctures and road conditions, the top drivers are giving it their all. Katsuta, Rovanperä, and Evans are battling for positions while adapting to the demanding course.

In a surprising turn of events, M-Sport experienced a disastrous morning, with only one of their four Puma Rally1s still in the running. Multiple setbacks, including hitting a rock, rolling out of contention, and sustaining suspension damage, plagued the M-Sport team, highlighting the intense competition and unforgiving nature of the rally.

As the drivers push themselves to the limit and navigate the treacherous terrain, Rally Italy Sardinia continues to deliver high-octane action and unexpected twists, keeping fans on the edge of their seats.
