Consequently, an independent inquiry is currently addressing these issues in preparation for the 2024 season. However, if the allegations are proven to be true, the team may face significant challenges heading into the 2024 season.
According to certain reports, Christian Horner and the team’s trusted aerodynamics expert, Adrian Newey, have contracts that offer them protection within the team. This means that if one of them decides to leave, the other might follow suit. Nevertheless, if the 50-year-old is found guilty of these accusations, Newey might contemplate departing from the team due to the severe blows inflicted upon the team’s reputation.
Regardless of the existence of these protected contracts, Horner’s dismissal from the team due to his inappropriate behavior would have a detrimental impact on his Formula 1 career. Therefore, it is highly likely that he would prefer not to leave Milton Keynes, despite the team principal’s misconduct.
