In late November, the Abu Dhabi Formula 1 Grand Prix takes place, at a time when the conflict between Israel and Hamas is sowing insecurity and uncertainty in the Middle East. So much so that rumors have emerged in recent days about the race not being able to take place – a scenario that, apparently, is not on the table.
The website PlanetF1.com writes, citing internal sources from the teams, that the possibility of cancellation was discussed internally, but concerns have been clarified. The rumors about a possible cancellation gain traction from the advice of the UK Foreign Affairs Council – which considers travel to the United Arab Emirates (where Abu Dhabi is located) to be dangerous due to the ‘high probability’ of terrorist attacks.
The team bosses and the teams themselves have been informed in detail about the situation, but there have been no expressed concerns about the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. However, the update issued by the British authorities has raised such concerns in the paddock about the possibility of a bigger problem.
