Abt mantém-se com a Audi no DTM em 2024… e terá nova parceira de peso

Source: Abt Sportsline

Abt Sportsline is already working on the next season of DTM, in which it will have a new partner: it has signed a contract with Red Bull as the main sponsor. At the same time, it will continue with two Audi R8 LMS GT3 cars.

The German team even considered a switch to Lamborghini – also part of the Volkswagen Group – after aligning a car from the brand in the 24 Hours of Nürburgring this year. However, the final option was to remain loyal to Audi, with which it has achieved success in DTM.
As for the drivers, Abt will keep the two it had this season: Kelvin van der Linde will enter his fourth season, while Ricardo Feller will compete in the championship for the third year.

Martin Tomczyk, sporting director of Abt, said: ‘We are proud to be the first team to present our complete set for the next DTM season. This gives us a decisive head start in our preparations before 2024. As for the car and the drivers, we trust in what has been tried and tested. Abt and Audi have worked together in DTM for 24 years. You don’t just end such a good and successful partnership, even if the overall conditions change. We have always emphasized that we wanted to continue with Ricardo and Kelvin. I can’t imagine a better pair of drivers in DTM right now. The return of Red Bull as a partner on our cars is the icing on the cake and will give wings to everyone in the team’.
