Former Ferrari driver Gerhard Berger has commended Ferrari’s decision to secure the services of Lewis Hamilton and emphasized the financial opportunities that come with this exciting partnership. Hamilton’s shocking move to Ferrari in 2025 has sent shockwaves through the sports world, as the seven-time world champion will now don the iconic red of Maranello. This news has been met with widespread praise from millions of fans worldwide. Berger, a former Ferrari driver himself, has highlighted Hamilton’s immense global presence and described him as the most significant and consistent figure in the modern era of Formula 1. Berger attributes this not only to Hamilton’s impressive track record but also to his enormous fan base. The Austrian believes that the Briton’s move to Ferrari will create a powerful financial alliance, as the Italian team is undoubtedly the biggest name in the racing world.

Berger, who knows the inner workings of Ferrari firsthand, believes that signing Hamilton is the best decision the team could have made. He believes that a power shift within the team could prove pivotal, as Ferrari has struggled to compete for the championship in recent seasons. With Hamilton’s arrival, the dynamics within the team could change for the better. Scuderia Ferrari has a storied history as the most successful engine supplier and team in Formula 1. However, they have endured a championship drought for over a decade, with their last Constructors’ Championship victory dating back to 2008.

Throughout the years, Ferrari has had talented drivers such as Sebastian Vettel, Fernando Alonso, and Kimi Räikkönen. However, none of them were able to secure the world championship for the Prancing Horse. Even Ferrari’s golden boy Charles Leclerc fell short in his 2022 title bid, losing out to a rival. It seems that Lewis Hamilton may be the only driver capable of finally turning the tide in Ferrari’s favor.

Hamilton’s hunger for success and his desire to secure an unprecedented eighth Formula 1 world title remains as strong as ever. At 39 years old, he continues to perform at an exceptional level and has several more years of competitive racing ahead of him. This makes him the ideal driver for Scuderia Ferrari, as he brings with him a wealth of experience from his dominant years with Mercedes.

Undoubtedly, Lewis Hamilton represents Ferrari’s best chance at reclaiming the Formula 1 world championship. The team will undoubtedly put in extensive efforts to provide the 39-year-old with a competitive car when he joins them in 2025. However, the pressure on this dream partnership will be immense. Only time will tell if Hamilton can bring back the glory days to Maranello.
