The National Charging Network, last year, recorded record numbers in all key indicators, a fact that unequivocally demonstrates the increase in the adoption of electric mobility in Portugal. Battery recharges, for example, reached 8.8 million – 40% more than in 2024 – and the users exceeded 474,000 (a progress of 68%).
The peaks in demand, in 2025, occurred in August and December, with 874,000 charges in the first, and 872,000 in the second. Also in terms of energy consumed, historic results, with the surpassing of 200,000 MWh – 57% more than last year – which allowed, according to the National Charging Network’s figures, to cover more than 1.2 billion kilometers. Thus, the consumption of more than 60 million liters of diesel was avoided – and the emission of more than 160,000 tons of CO2 was saved.
More charges, more users, more energy consumed, and more charging points. During 2025, significant work was done on the expansion of the infrastructure, ending the year with more than 23,000 charging points in the network (an increase of over 42%), and an additional 11,000 stations (32%).
