A Ferrari, the Italian brand of sports vehicles, is not exclusive to older clients, as according to Benedetto Vigna, CEO of the Maranello brand, “40% of the brand’s new customers are under 40 years old”.

Vigna, speaking in an interview with “CNBC“, revealed that this number is an achievement for Ferrari as it reflects a significant increase compared to the data released 18 months ago, when customers under 40 represented about 30%. “I don’t know the situation of other brands, but for us it is an achievement that is due to our team”, Vigna added.

The Maranello brand is known for traditionally limiting the production of its models to maintain exclusivity; however, to meet demand, it has been increasing production volumes.

In this way, in 2024, Ferrari delivered 13,752 vehicles, representing a growth of 0.7% compared to 2023 and a new record for the brand.  However, the waiting time for the delivery of a Ferrari model is over two years.

The type of Ferrari customer may change soon with the arrival of the first 100% electric model from the Maranello brand, which will be presented on October 9.

Vigna believes that the new model will attract new clients to the brand, making it clear that some potential electric vehicle customers have already indicated their interest in an electric model and do not want to purchase any of Ferrari’s gasoline models.

The new electric Ferrari is one of six models that the brand will launch in 2025. In addition to the 100% electric offering, the Italian brand will provide hybrid models and traditional combustion engine vehicles.

It is worth noting that Ferrari announced in January that it expects hybrid and fully electric models to account for about 80% of deliveries by 2030, with the remaining models powered by gasoline engines.
